THE BOY SCOUTS.

INVERCARGILL TOURNEY. LOCAL TROOP'S SUCCESS. On Saturday evening last 20 'boys of the local Scout troop, under Scoutmaster Rasmussen, journeyed to Invercargill for the purpose of taking part, in the tournament on Easter Monday. The lads were met at Invercargill by ,officers and scouts, and each boy was billeted out. The visiting scouts wore shown round Invercargill on Sunday. - ' The troop paraded at the grounds at 9.110 on 'Monday morning, and on Monday afternoon the Balclutha troop marched from the post office to the show grounds. The events competed for resulted as follows:

Ambulance Competition.—Fractured forearm, Balclutha 1; external bleeding, Balclutha 2; broken thigh, Balclutha .'(. Bugling Competition (calls, alarm and reveille;. —Bugler Low (Balclutha) 1. Signalling Competition.—Balclutha 1 and ;i. The signalling of the winning team was considered really excellent, the runners-up being a good deal behind them in accuracy aud speed. Tug-o'-war.—Balclutha 1. Our boys had no difficulty in vanquishing tlieir opponents, as they were a particularly lieftv lot of lads.

■Great credit was given the local boys for neatness, smartness and drill.
