A curious incident of the severe winter weather which was experienced all over the country has occurred at Auxerre, in Central France. A farmer lately fell in the darkness into a brook. He struggled out, gasping for breath, and leaned up against a tree to recover hhnself. While he waited there the intense cold froze his feet hard to the ground so that he was unable to move.
