FROZEN TO THE GROUND.
A curious incident of the severe winter weather which was experienced all over the country has occurred at Auxerre, in Central France. A farmer lately fell in the darkness into a brook. He struggled out, gasping for breath, and leaned up against a tree to recover hhnself. While he waited there the intense cold froze his feet hard to the ground so that he was unable to move. He was found several hours later, unconscious, with his eoaked clothing stiff upon him. He was brought to consciousness with difficulty and Tiis feet and limbs are severely frostbitten,
