CLINTON STOCK SALE. About 5000 sheep and lambs wereyarded for Clinton stock sale yesterday, the yarding of lambs being exceptionally heavy. Prices showed a slight drop' from last sale's rates. Forward lambs sold up to 15 s lOd, good lambs from 12s 6d to 14s 2d, niddium 1 Is to 12s, culls 8s to 9s, two-tooth wethers to 17s fid., four anil six-tooth wethers 18s 4d to 20s fullmouth ewes 16s to His (id, four-tooth ewes 21s lid, cull ewes 7s to lis according to condition.

LONDON WOOL MARKET. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, advise having received the following advice by cable from their London office regarding the progress of the second series of London wool sales:—"A s compared with last sales' closing rates prices are higher 7* per cent, to 10 per cent, for merino scoured, greasy merino super, merino Jambs, greasy niej;ino medium, scoured crossbred and greasy merino inferior; 10 per cent, higher'for crossbred lambs, crossbred slipe ami greasy crossbred. Competition for good quality of sheep was good, and they were firm at last week's rates. Moderate quality sheep may be quoted to 6d per head below last week's prices. Potatoes.—-There is a fair demand for prime quality tables, which sre saleable at £4 to £4 10s, but inferior quality are not wanted and are difficult to sell at £2 to £-'5. Chaff.—Arrivals of old chaff have come to hand heavily during the week, and new chaff is also offering freely. The only inquiry is a limited one for prime quality, medium quality being out. of favour.
