PRIME MINISTER MISSES A TRAIN

The Commonwealth Prime Minister, Mr Fisher, was greatly disappointed, inconvenienced, and relatively disgusted when lie discovered that hie would; not be allowed to board the Limited Express train for Sydney at Junee on May 13. Mr Fisher and his party turned up hopefully at the coaling station well betimes, and as the train rushed into the platform bade confident good-byes to many country friends. A railway regulation, however, prevented the carriage doors from being opened even to Mr Fisher and his party, on this train at this station, and the Prime Minister of the Commonwealth was compelled to spend the most part of a oold, dark jouple of hours in such amusement as the place, and such reflection as his feelings, afforded. The subsequent train was a hundred minutes behind time, and Mr Fisher's «ngagements in Sydney were to that extent delayed. "It is no new thing," said Mr Griffith (Minister for Public Works) to whom the incident was mentioned. "Mr Holman, when Acting-Premier of the State, had just the same experience. The Commissioner will take no new passengers on at Junee."
