AN UNPLEASANT PREDICAMENT. ' TOOK POSSESSION. WAIHI, Feb. 18. The Miners' Union Hall has passed through another stage of its eventful history. It\will be remembered that immediately after the tragic occurrence in the vicinity the hall premises were entered and taken possession bv a number of financial members of the old union who were also -.members of the Arbitration Union. Possession lasted for a week and was terminated by the unexpected re-entry of prominent memhers of the old unioiK who opened the doors while the hall was empty. Since that time members of the union have occupied the premises, Secretary Franklin holding the keys and using the building for the old union's purposes. Yesterday afternoon eight .financial members pf the old union walked into the hall to pay their contributions while the secretary was there. The secretary insisted on the payment of all, levies due to the old union as well as contributions. To this the members objected, expressing their willingness to, pay the ordinary contributions but nothing more. The secretary stood firm in the matter, no payments were made, and as the members decided that had a right to the use of the Jjall they took possession of the building and are now thft oocupaats.
