CRICKET.
It is pleasing to see that an effort is being made to revive cricket, which has lain dormant in Balclutha for two seasons past. On .Saturday next Mr Finhiyson, of Lochindorb, will bring a tc.'im from his district to Balclutha. The town will be represented by the following:—Black, Landels, Watson, Cations, Ramsay, P. C. Hislop, A. Bishop, I). Crow, Keitch, Scott and Gunthorp. Most of the above are "old buffers," and they hope that having set the, ball rolling once more the young fellows of Balclutha will take the game up and resuscitate the local (dub. In view of the match a practice will be held on the Caledonian ground on Wednesday evening, commencing at six o'clock, to which all interested in cricket are requested to attend.
