OWAKA.

« fpnosr our own correspondent.] The weather during the past week has been very wet, and has pretty well stopped all outdoor work. There is to be a general meeting of the Owaka Football Club at Paterson's Hall next Saturday at 7 p.m.; also the bachelors of Lower Owaka are to meet at. the same time and place re holding a balLat a short date. The Owaka Valley School formed a committee on Monday evening last, the following serving —Messrs M' Arthur, Crawford, Cox, W. Mason, and F. Lees.- - i. The railway seems to be now well in hand, the last gang of men being at work alongside the river. Thus in a couple of months' time we should surely see some appearance of them making a start on this side. Owaka, June 13.
