Wheat.— There is no material change ia the tone of the market or in values. It is believed that the very moderate quantity available will not be sufficient for requirements till tbe end of the season. There is therefore a disposition in the part, of sellers to hold and consequently the market is very firm. Transactions are not extensive, owing to the disinclination of holders to quit. The demand for all sorts is very fair, both on tbe part of millers and speculators. Quotations : For best milling velvet 2s lOd 1.0 2s lid ; medium to good ditto and Tuscan 2a 8d to 2s 9d • medium to good red wheat 2s 5d to 2g 8d ; inferior and good fowls' wheat, 2s to 2a 4d (ex store, sacks weighed in, terms)' Oats —These are coming in freely but most is going into store. Consequently, quantity offered for immediate sale is limited, and is the main cause of tbe market showing so much firmness lately. There is however no great animation and although {rood demand exists it is difficult to find a market sufficiently good to leave a margin at present prices. Quotations : For stout, bright milling is 6d to Is 6*rl ; best stout short feed Is sidtols.6d; medium to good Is 4^d to Is s£d; inferior Is 3d to Is 4d ; Ion? Tartars, fit for seed Is 8d to Is 9d ; black Tartars, clean and free from white Is oh to Is GJd (ex store, sacks extra, net). Barley.— This market is a good deal quieter, and prices are easier. Quotations : For prime malting 3s 6d to 3s 9d ; medium 3s to 3s 3d ; milling 2s 3d to 2s 9d ; feed Is 6d to Is M (ex store, sncks extra). Grass Seeds. — The business done 1 in ryegrass seed, ia limited. Buyers are not disposed to operate at late quotations, unless .the quality is above the ordinary and thoroughly clean. Quotations- -say, for medium to good rnacninedressed 2s 9d to 3s 3d ; choice perennial 3s 6d to 4s (ex store, net). — Cocksfoot is in few hands, and although the demand at the moment fs not extra lively prices are very firm, which are— for best dressed sM 'to 6d ; medium 4d to 5d per Ib. Potatoes.— The market is over-supplied for the time being ; sales in consequence are difficult to effect. Quotations : For best Derwents L2 5s to L2 7s {3d ; medium L2 to L2 2s 6d ; prime kidneys, for seed, L2 16s to L3 (medium not demand) per ton (ex store, sacks weighad in net). Dairy Produce.— Market unchanged. The bulk is being shipped Home direct by the makers, no more being dfalt with in thismai-ket than suffices the demand for local consumption. Quotations : For prime salt butter, dairy made, 6d to 7d ; medium 4d to sd ; factory made 9d to lOd. Factory cheese : Medium size 4id to 4^l; loaf do 4|d to 5d ; dairy made 2d to4d per lb. Flax.— There is no business of any consequence passing. Owing to the mills being closed for the winter, there is little, if any, now coming forward.
