INCH CLUTHA RIVER AND ROAD BOARD.
* ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the above board was held on Thursday last week at noon. There were present — Messrs Rutherford, Smith, Henderson, M'Donald and Anderson. It was moved by Mr Anderson, seconded by Mr Smith that Mr Rutherford take the chair. The minutes of last annual meeting were read and confirmed.* Mr Smith moved—" That Mr Rutherford be chairman for the ensuing year." — Seeonded by Mr Anderson and carried. Mr Anderson moved — " That James M'Kinlay be appointed clerk, collector, and treasurer at a salary of LI 5 per annumn."— Seconded by Mr M'Donald and carried. It was resolved that Mr Thornton be appointed solicitor to the board, and that the meeting of the board be held bimonthly during the winter months, on the third Thursday of the month at 7 p.m. The balance-sheot for the year ending, 31st March last, was laid on the table. The balance-sheet showed that the income for the year L351 16s 9d ; expenditure L297 4s 7d ; leaving a credit balance of L54 12s 2d. Thr adoption of same was held over till audited.
