The wool sales opened on Tuesday with a catalogue of 11,660 bales. There was a lai-ge attendance, and competition was fair, especially between French aud English buyers. • Merinoes were disposed of at par to a decline of 5 per cent, as compared with the rates ruling at last series. Crossbreds were firm, except shabbier sorts, which showed a decrease of |d. ~
