Wheat.— There is no improvement in the recent dispondent tone of the Home market, and the colonial markets show but little activity. Very prime milling has some inquiry, and fowls' wheat is in fair demand, but medium milling, which comprises the bulk of consignments to hand, meets with but little attention . Quotations : Prime milling Tuscan and velvet 2s 8d to 2s 9d, medium to good 2s 6d to 2s 7d, inferior to medium 2s to 2s 4d— ex store, sacks weighed in, terms. Oats.— Nearly all consignments are going into store, and are being held for a price more in accordance with the cost of production. The , small quantity offering has caused a slight improvement in prices this week. Quotations : For prime nvlliug ls s£d to ls 6.h1, best short feed Is 5d to Is SM, medium to good Is 3£d to Is 4jd, long Tartarians fit for seed Is 6d to ls 7hd— ex store, sacks -extra, net. "Barley.— Very little business doing, buyei-3 declining to operate except at much lower prices unless. tlie quality is extra prime. Quotations — merely nominal— say, for best malting, bright and full grown 3s 9d to 4s, medium to wood 3s to 3s 6d, milling 2s 3d to 2s 9d, feed ls 6d to ls 9d— ex store, sacks extra. Grass Seed.— No alteration: prices remain steady. Quotations : For good to best machine dressed 2s 9d to 3s 3d, choice and guaranteed perennial 3s 6d to 4s— ex store.— Cocksfoot has some slight inquiry, but sales are not numerous. Prices, however, are very firm— say, for best dressed snd to 6d, medium 4d to 5d per lb. - Potatoes.— The supply is in excess of requirements ; the market in consequence is depressed and prices lower. Quotations : .For best Derweuts L 2 10s to L 2 12s 6d, medium L 2 53 to )L2 7s 6d, kidneys for seed slow sale at L 3 2s 6d to L 3 12s 6d per ton — ex store, sacks weighed in, net. Dairy Produce.— Prime salt butter, dairy made,. moderate demand at s£d to 6d, medium 3Ad to 4M, factory made 9d to 10d per lb. Factory cheese : .Medium size 4id to 4|d, loaf do 4|d to sd, dairy made 2d to 4,i per lb. Flax.— Market flat and some difficulty experienced in placing the small consignments now coining forward. Quotations nominal — say, for medium to good Ll3 10s to Ll4 10s, inferior to medium LIO to'Ll2 per ton— ex store.
