FOOTBALL NOTES.

*~ (By Red-and-White.) The Clutha Club's practice on Saturday last was only sparsely attended. After practising passing, dribbling, etc., for some time sides were picked by Finn and Pennyeook, an equal and well-matched game resulting in the latter winning by one try to nil. Mackenzie and Wylie were the most prominent in the winning forwards, while for their opponents Fleming, Joseph, and Wilson played well. Clutha meet Clinton on the 24th at Clinton, when a good game should result. A large practice is to be held here on Saturday with the .view of enabling the match committee to judge of the relative -merits of the players. Sides have been picked by the match committee, but other players than those mentioned will be able to have a game if they desire it. Play to commence at 3 p.m. sharp. On the captain's side are : — Backs : R. Stewart, Grant, Bett, Fleming, Sievwright, Gow ; forwards : Bain, Joseph, M'Neur, Wilson, Porter, A. Dunne, Black, Wylie, I. Wyber.
