As at present . . . . 109 E eduction ~ . . . . 60 No license . . . . 1652 Returns from Glenkenich, Kelso, and Qropkston not in, ■' ■ There, were a considerable, number of informal votes over and above the above figures. The returning officer supplied us with . the above returns last evening, with the explajifu tion that they were only approximate. According to the above figures it avouM require 1180, 1074, and 1140 votes to carry no license in each of the three proposals. The number of votes required to make the poll legal — viz., 1658, will in all likelihood be more than made up by the numbers recorded for each of the temperance candidates alone when the outstanding returns are, to hand; while according to the returns now in 1976 votes Avere recorded in the local option yet fie \n oqn-. nectioi} w|th publicans^ licenses.
