The Kaiser has addressed a letter to the Berlin Corporation thanking them for their congratulations on New Year's Day. The Emporer says : — ' The hearty sympathy which I received from all classes of the people gave me the greatest satisfaction. In the conviction that I am under the protection of the Almighty, I shall continue to exercise; my princely calling in promoting to the best • of my ability the good of my country.' '-'--*.-
