LAWN TENNIS.
A match was played on the local green on Saturday last - between teams representing Kaitangata and Balclutha Clubs. The latter team scored a decided victory, for, although Kaitangata won two sets, Balclutha. won every event. Rain fell during the afternoon and somewhat marred the pleasure of the games, and considerably interfered with the play. Appended are the scores : — Gentlemen's Doubles.

Corson and Paul . . 9 4 Misses Smith and F. Smith beat Misses Sinclair and M'Millan 9 1 Combimed Doubles. Mr and Mrs Bishop beat Miss' M'Millan and Dr Fitzgerald . . • '9 3 Miss F. Smith and Dr Hogg^ beat Miss Sinclair and Dr Thomson 6 4 Miss Smith and Mr Gargill beat Miss Paul and Mr M'Laren 9 6 Mrs Halliday and Mr Bett beat Miss N. Corson and Mr Davis 6 2 Gentlemens Singles. Dr Hogg beat Mr Davis .. 12 10 Mr Bishop beat Dr Thomson . . 10 8 Mr Bett beat Dr Fitzgerald 9 4 Mr Cargill was beaten by Mr McLaren . . 5 9 Totals 98 64 Balclutha thus won by 34 games.
