KAITANGATA SCHOOL COMMITTEE
A special nice ting of 'the "Kaitangata I School Committee was held in the school-, room on Monday "evening'!' There were present Messrs Smith (chairman), Aitchi- - sb"n, Robertson, and Hislop. . . The Chairmian explained that the meeting had been called for' the purpose of taking, some action in order to retain the services of Miss Osborne, the schoolmistress, who had received the offer of the appointment of mistress in Green Island school at a salary of Lll s per annum.. It was mentioned that Miss Osborne was willing to retain her present situation provided her salary were raised to a- sum. equal to the salary of the appointment which had been offered her. . . The members of Committee present, as well as the' head-master of the .school,; having expressed their high appreciation' of Miss Osborne's services as a teacher,; Mr Robertson moved and Mr Aitcheson seconded the following resolution, which was carried unanimously — "The School' Committee having learned that Miss Osborne has received the offer of the appoint7nent of schoolmistress in the Green Island school at a salary. of Llls-per annum, tlie Committee in order to retain Miss Osborne's services resolve to raise her salary to Ll2O per annum." The meeting then adjourned.
