' Mr Heid, on behalf of Mr Nugent Wood, applied to purchase section 5, bioik 111-., Waikaia. — Adjourned for a 'week. The following applications for deferred payment licenses were ordered to issue : — ■ Robiua Smith, section 17, block VIII. , ToicTois ; Lawrence Gilliespie, section 15, block IX. , Chatton ; and Thomas Fraser, section 5, block XII. , Rock and Pillar district. Hanger Campbell reported, upon W. K-. M'Kenzie's application to purchase deferred payment section 23, block VIII., Toi-Tois, under section 54 of the Act of 1872. He recommended that the appli>cation be granted, as the condition had been complied with.— Approved. Messrs Somervillo, M'Keraie., Brown, and others wrote that the land applied for by Mr T. Robertson, being section 45, block 1., Warepa, is the only piece of valuable bush for the use of the settlers, to which the road had been recently ! opened. They asked that no injustice should be done the settlers in dealing with the matter. — Adjourned for Ranger's re"port. The Secretary to the Waipahi Progress Committee accepted the oiier of section 52, block VII., Waipahi, as a site fora cemetery. — Noted. Messrs Gillies, Street, and Hislop, for Messrs A. and J. Rankin and John Kay, applied for a lease of 20 acres of section 29, block VI. , Waikaka, as a lignite area. — Adjourned for one week. Mr J. A. Mooney, for Mr J. A. Steel, applied to purchase section 15, block X. , Glenkonich, taken on deferred payments and subsequently abandoned, and that it be offered at auction at £1 per acre.— Declined. Ranger Hnghan reported on the application of Mr R, Robson for scrip under the Forest Trees Planting Encouragement Acts of 1871 and 1872, recommending that scrip to the extent of £90 be granted; to him.—- Recommended in accordance, with Ranger's report. -„;■.
