May 15, 1877. (Before E. H. Citrow, Esq., li.M.) John Ah Goon, cook at the White Horse Hotel, .was charged with doing one M'Dowell grievous bodily harm, in having, ou the night' of the 11th insf-. , bitten a piece from his upper lip. Mr Taj'lor prosecuted for- the Crown, and Mr D. Reid for the defence. After, hearing the evidence of the barman and Dr Peter Stewart, the prisoner was committed for trial at the next sitting of the. District Court, bail being allowed, himself in £100 and two sureties of £50 each.
