High-tech, video suite in Chch
Orly Productions, a Christchurch film - and television production company,- is claiming v a breakthrough fbr local industry with a high-techno-logy video suite it will open this week. The managing director of Orly, Mr Ross Beck, said that for the first time in the South Island an independent studio would be capable of complete “start-to-finish” products using special effects and video techniques not previously available.
The “electronic star” of the new suite would be a special-effects generator, which had a catalogue of three-dimensional video tricks, he said.
The system could perform simple video flips or shot-within-shot montages, rotations of images and enlargements of portions of the picture. Effects seen on.. top American shows would now be both achievable and affordable, even for. medium budget company videos. Mr Beck said.
