Writer’s Fellowship awarded

The fellowship pays $30,000 and gives the fellow a room in the university’s English department the report said. Ms Duckworth said she intended to work on a novel next year which would explore new direc-

tions in style. She was awarded the Katherine Mansfield Fellowship in 1980, and was joint winner of the New Zealand Book Award for Fiction in 1985. In 1987 she received an 0.8. E. for services to literature.
