Accident injures 4 people
The Ministry of Transport is seeking witnesses to a head-on car crash in Hornby last evening which left two adults and two children with serious injuries. Firemen took about 90 minutes to cut free one of the victims from the wreckage after the collision at the intersection of the Main South Road and Foremans Road, soon after 6 p.m. The trapped woman, aged 30, suffered serious head, leg and internal injuries.
A boy aged seven suffered serious head injuries and a girl aged three moderate head injuries.
A man in his 30s suffered serious head, leg and internal injuries.
All four were admitted to Christchurch Hospital. The two adults and one of the children were in intensive care late last evening and the other child was admitted to the children’s ward.
