Wall Street stocks ended a hectic and tense week in the doldrums on Friday (Saturday, N.Z. time), with the Dow Jones industrial average up modestly in relatively quiet trading. The Dow ended with a gain of 5.94 points at 2689.14. For the week, the 30-share index was up about 120 points, after the 190-point loss on the previous Friday.
