Christian Scientists die earlier—study

NZPA-Reuter Chicago Christian Scientists, who do not smoke or drink but shun medical care as part of their religion, die earlier than those who do not share their beliefs, a United States researcher has said.

ated from the University of Kansas during the same era. William Simpson, of Emporia State University, in Kansas, whose study is published in the “Journal of the American Medical Association,” traced

graduates of Principia College, in Elsah, Illinois, from 1934 to 1983. A graduate of the school, Mr Simpson was able to obtain data from Principia’s graduates publications.
