Cool customer ...
PA Wellington A man who broke into a Newtown house and was confronted by the occupant calmly unplugged the home’s video recorder and left via the front door yesterday. The police described the burglar as a “cool customer.” They want to talk to anyone who saw the man before or after the afternoon robbery. A 16-year-old youth in
the Rintoul Street house went to investigate noises in the lounge about 1.20 p.m. and bumped into the man. The man threatened the youth and ordered him to sit in a chair, before unplugging the video and walking out of the house and down the road. A police spokesman said the man had made some “nasty” threats and the police were anxious to find him.
