Euthanasia
Sir,—lt was interesting to hear Dr Cullen, speaking about the elderly at the conference in Dunedin, say, “let those who are unable to enjoy the quality of life,” die with dignity with the help of a doctor, rather than let them suffer to the end. Why can we not have, voluntary euthana- - siabetweep "doctor and patient? No panel of mirwjs and family, it . . is nothing to do withthem; A law should be passed to this-effect so that the doctor not Jo blame. Not everyone'would agree,- but I know a lot who would, so let '{them have a ctiance..it would be ■ much kinder -than being in an under-staffed home; or hospital and left to rot — Yours, etc., CARA UNWIN.
