N.Z. loses squash
PA ' Hamilton In the big four battle for top honours at the world junior women’s squash championships Australia and England maintained their unbeaten record, beating West Germany and New Zealand respectively. In the battle of the No. Is, Sabine Schone (West Germany) comprehensively beat Robyn Cooper 9-7, 9-6, 9-6 but Carol Owens and Marianne MacDonald won to give the tie to Australia. New Zealand was the biggest loser last night, destroyed by a rampant England, 3-0. The world champion, Donna Vardy, again accounted for New Zealand’s top player, Lynora Hati, this time taking six minutes less than it took to beat her in the individual final last Saturday. Vardy won 9-0, 91, 9-6. Canada beat Ireland, 3-0, while Scotland beat the United States 2-1.
