Chathams mail by air
All mail to and from the Chatham Islands will be charged at surface rates from October 1, but it will travel by air. “We cannot provide the Fast Post nextday delivery service to or from the Chathams as there are only two regular flights a week,” said New Zealand Post’s Christchurch rural operations manager, Mr Martin Slattery. All mail would continue to be delivered at the first opportunity, he said. Prices for parcel mail to the Chathams will increase on October 1.
