Outcry at snake stunt
A firm of video distributors has stopped sending out live snakes to promote a horror film after the gimmick caused a public outcry. CIC Video Distributors are now retrieving the 400 Chinese rat snakes it sent to video dealers around Britain last week, it was disclosed yesterday. But the R.S.P.C.A. warned that CIC may still face prosecution if it was proved any of the snakes had suffered. —NZPA-PA
