Mrs Miss Ms
Sir, —Our younger women are tackling the inequality meted out to previous generations, and all women should support them. When a man’s photograph appears in the newspaper there is no indication of his marital status from the prefix “Mr.” Women should wake up, particuarly when they can be referred to as being either wheat or chaff. I deliberately choose the prefix “Ms” on all documents as a blow for female equality, even though I would qualify for the wheat bag. — Yours etc.,
MARY WARREN. August 28, 1989.
