Ferrymead funding
The development of more residential accommodation at Ferrymead Historic Park could raise much needed funds, according to the park’s director, Mr Robin Sutton. He said the opinion was his own and not board policy, but said he would like to investigate the possibility further. Ferrymead has five residential tenants on its 48ha of land in the Heathcote Valley. The historic park occupied about half of this area. Mr Sutton said the park was facing a financial crisis and was trying to broaden its funding base. The money raised from ticket sales was not enough to pay costs.
