Response disappoints
Organisers of a “medicine amnesty” in aid of the Cot Death Society are disappointed at the response so far. The shop manager of the Bush Inn Pharmacy which is organising the amnesty, Mr Colin Needham, said only about 10 people had brought in old medicines, and the amnesty had been going for about 10 days. For every lot of old prescription medicine brought into the pharmacy, $1 will be donated to the Canterbury Cot Death Society. The pharmacy hopes to prevent child deaths caused by accidental overdoses, as well as helping the Cot Death Society.
