Maori education study
A statutory body to promote the educational advancement of Maoris is being considered. The Minister of Maori Affairs, Mr Wetere, said he believed there was a strong case for its establishment. The Ministry was working on a feasibility study. “It would actively promote the educational advancement of Maori people and give the maximum return on the resources committed to Maori education,” he said.
