Woman drowns

A woman died on Mount Egmont on Monday after being swept away while trying to cross a nooded stream. Sergeant Peter French said the woman was in a party of six on a day tramp. When the party reached the Ngatoro Stream they found it in flood. Three of the party were swept downstream while attempting a crossing. Two managed to make it to the river bank, but the third did not.
