N.Z. Co-op profit
New Zealand’s largest dairy company, Hamilton-based New Zealand Co-operative Dairy Company, has announced its highest ever profit in spite of lower milk volumes. A 42 per cent leap in revenue, to $1325 million, gave the company its highest ever net profit after tax, up 38 per cent to S6B7M. The 4600 dairy farmer shareholders, who produced about one-third of the country’s total milk supply last year, were paid a total of $605.5M. The 1988 pay-out was S47OM, according to the 1989 annual report.
