Self-taught artist
The first public exhibition of paintings by Steve Swanson is being held at Several Arts until the end of September. Swanson, who is completely self-taught, describes the exhibition as the product of 10 years application to art in its many forms. He has been influenced by photography, which he uses in conjunction with his painting. His aim, he says, is to reconnect with the "universal aesthethic which lies unawakened in the subconscious.”
