Sir,—Mr Caygiil omitted one important item from His Budget He forgot toe perfect solution to \ having to provide, for the useless \ elderly' — euuanasia on the ■

A.C.C. for all over 60. One stroke of toe legislative pen would end Government worries over superannuation for ever. The Government could pay a once-only subsidy for every termination carried out on the A.C.C. That would be a nice little earner for hospitals, freezing works and mortuaries. If toe operation showed a profit it could be privatised. Some big international, perhaps the Chinese with all .their experience of student slaughter, would be perfect Mr Caygill should amend his Budget so that -we can all sleep safe in our beds knowing that he has our money at heart; excepting of course, things like toe Clyde Dam. Your editorial (July 28) is not that of a “sensitive” trying to exist in a very ruthless era. For those with toe least amount of money, exactly of what purpose will be the universal benefit, two-thirds of toe average wage- for a couple and half for a single person amount alternative to eutoanasia?~rYWs/etc., ....
