Bullet just misses pair in car
PA Wellington A Wellington woman who says luck saved her from being hit in the head by a bullet fired through a car window decided to see if her luck would last — she went out and bought a Lotto ticket. Police said it appeared the shot smashed the front passenger window, just missing the woman and a friend, and went out the opposite window. The bullet was fired by someone in another car while driving along the motorway. The shooting happened on the Western Hutt motorway near the Kennedy-Good Bridge at 10.30 p.m. on Sunday. The other car, with four males in it, sped off and the couple tried to follow it. They managed to get down part of the car’s registration number before losing the car. A police spokesman said though a gun was not seen, it was the only thing which would have smashed both windows. There was no apparent motive for the attack.
