I.H.C. donation for theft

PA Auckland Two teenagers who admitted shoplifting more than $5OO worth of clothes were ordered in the District Court at Auckland yesterday to pay $250 to the Intellectually Handicapped Children’s Society. Judge Rushton also ordered the two young women to apologise to the managers of two St Luke’s shopping ! mall clothing shops from which they

stole clothing. Ramarie Hana Jackson, aged 17, of Avondale, and Maureen McKree, aged 17, of Mount Roskill, were discharged without conviction. Prosecuting, Sergeant Mark Finnigan said the pair were at St Luke’s on Saturday where they stole from Yves Clothing Store twice and from Max Fashions once, before returning to Yves where

they were caught by staff. The Court was told they were both ashamed of what they had done on the spur of the moment.

Both women were undergoing a television training course. Judge Rushton said they had been stupid but she would not “blot” their record by convicting them, on condition they apologise and donate the money.
