No B.Y.O. licence for Aqualand
Jellie Park Aqualand has been denied the chance to apply for a 8.Y.0. licence for its restaurant. Almost all Waimairi District Councillors spoke against granting a 8.Y.0. licence for the pool. Recreation Management Services applied recently for a licence to cater for groups hiring the facility.
Cr Gordon Freeman said granting the pool a licence would be foolhardy. He, and other councillors opposed the use of alcohol near water. Cr John Hanafin also opposed the 8.Y.0. licence, but said he could agree with the restaurant being able to sell alcohol where patrons werp not swimming.
