TV3 will begin broadcasting in main centres, In November. The Introduction of TV3 in the main centres means that you will need to re-tune your telvlslon receiver and possibly change your television aerial, to RETAIN reception of TV2 (or In Prices Valley TVI). Please note that you will not be able to obtain direct reception of the new TV3 service until a translator for the TV3 service is Installed for your area. The timing of these installations will be determined by TV3. Will I have to replace my aerial? In future TV2 in the Kaituna, Heathcote and St Martins area will be transmitted on CH 10. TVI in the Prices Valley area will In future be transmitted on CH 4. All of these services are currently operating on Channel 6. Some older types of antenna are not designed to receive Channel 10 and will need to replaced. You may need to replace your TV aerial If your TV set shows: • Loss of definition on the Channel 10 service • Loss of colour on the Channel 10 service • Significant increase In ghosting compared with previous picture quality.Your local television service company will be able to advise you on the most, suitable type of antenna for your area. When will the changes happen? The changes to the translator serving the PRICES VALLEY area will be made on MONDAY, JULY 24,1989 (subject to weather conditions). The work will take around 1 day to complete, during which the TVI service may be switched off. The changes to the translator serving the KAITUNA area will be made on TUESDAY, JULY 25,1988 (subject to weather conditions). The work will take around 1 day to complete, during which the TV2 service may be switched off. The changes to the translator serving the HEATHCOTE area will be made on WEDNESDAY, JULY 26, 1989 (subject to weather conditions). The work will take around 1 day to complete, during which the TV2 service may be switched off. The changes to the repeater serving the ST MARTINS area will be made on THURSDAY, JULY 27,1989 (subject to weather conditions).
