Education Vacancies Education Vacancies CANTERBURY COT DEATH RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP CHRISTCHURCH THE Canterbury area (population 400,000) has one of the highest cot death rates in the world: 6-7 per thousand live births. The Fellowship has been established by public subscription to address this problem specifically. The Fellowship is tenable in the Paediatric Department of the Christchurch School of Medicine and the position may involve some current research activities and/or proposals of the applicant. Because there may be some limited clinical and teaching responsibilities it is anticipated that the successful applicant will be a medical graduate pursuing a career in Paediatrics. Remuneration, dependent on qualifications and experience, will be within the scales for assistant lecturer/lecturer (medical) of the University of Otago. In unusual circumstances, consideration will be given to applications falling outside the above criteria. THE UNIVERSITY OF AUCKLAND A SENIOR LECTURESHIP IN BEHAVIOURAL SCIENCE PART-TIME, LIMITED TERM - 5 YEARS Department of Psychiatry and Behavioural Science School of Medicine THIS POSITION is for a 0.7 appointment for a 5year term in the Behavioural Science Section of the combined Department of Psychiatry and Behavioural Science, and involves teaching, programme development and research within the five year Behavioural Science programme in the present medical course. The section is seeking a person with interests and applied experience in the field of Behavioural Medicine, with special relevance to the New Zealand situation. Candidates must hold a doctoral level qualification in Psychology and should have experience of teaching Behavioural Science in a medical school context. Priority will be given to candidates with clinical or other applied experience in the area of Behavioural Medicine. Knowledge of New Zealand health and social systems would be an advantage, with particular reference to cultural sensitivities in the health area. A sound research publication record in the area of Behavioural Medicine is highly desirable. Limited clinical duties may be negotiated. Commencing salary will be established within the range $NZ49,000 to $NZ57,000 per annum.
