Stubbs selected for Canty B hockey team
The New Zealand junior women’s hockey captain, Kathy Stubbs, has made only the Canterbury B team for the national tournament in Christchurch from August 28 to September 2. Stubbs is leading the New Zealand team in the first women’s Junior World Cup tournament, being played in Ottawa. The Carlton forward has been replaced in the Canterbury A line-up by a club team-mate, Cathy Thompson. Both Stubbs and Lorraine Rouse, another player rele-
gated to the B side, were in the Canterbury team which regained the Champions Trophy in Wellington earlier in the season. The Canterbury teams named yesterday for the national tournament were:— Canterbury A: Kieran O’Grady, Kate Trolove, Mary Clinton, captain.
