Miss Petty record tilt
NZPA-AAP Brisbane Punters may be saluting a new turf champion today when Blackall idol Miss Petty attempts to smash the Australasian winning-sequence record at Longreach in central Queensland. Miss Petty, a rising eight-year-old, will be partnered by trainerjockey Charlie Prow as she attempts to maintain
her undefeated record over the last three years. Miss Petty equalled Picnic In The Park’s Australian record of 21 consecutive wins when she carried 66kg to smash the track record over 1000 m at Longreach on July 1. Miss Petty will have everything in her favour for the record attempt as today’s Longreach event is restricted to weight-for-
age conditions. The mare carried 63.5kgs when she won two starts back at Jericho, but will have a "luxury” 56kg at Longreach. Miss Petty is unbeaten for Prow, who took over her training from Goondiwindi station manager Roley White three years ago.
