Moderate demand for N.Z. lamb

PA Wellington There was a moderate demand for New Zealand lamb in Britain this week, which is considered traditional for this time of the year, the New Zealand Meat Producers Board said. Although the British dock strike is showing signs of weakening, New Zealand containers were still being shipped over. There was little activity in the north American beef market this week.

Domestic beef prices dropped by USIOc to 11c a pound. Imported 95C1 bull beef was quoted at USl26c and 90CI cow beef at USll7c a pound cif (NZ4BOc and NZ445c a kg cif respectively).
