Anti-Labour vote
Two thousand polytechnic students have pledged they will not vote for Labour in the General Election if user-pays education is introduced. The Aotearoa Polytechnic Students Union will present the pledge to the Opposition spokesman on education, Mr Lockwood Smith, at Parliament today, along with a petition signed by about 3000 students opposing increases in student costs, saying the increases would destroy fair access to tertiary education.—PA *
