Murder and Mayhem
“Murder, Mystery and Mayhem” sum up the themes of three one-act plays being presented by Riccarton Players this week, starting tonight. “Revenge,” by Howard Brenton, is a psychological black comedy that looks at goood and evil in a former convict. A row of cardboard policemen and a large black and white cow supplement the cast. “The Frankenstein Case” is a comedy, with the original tale getting a local setting and some twists. The story, which includes a dinosaur from Disneyland, was written by Kenneth Rea, a New Zealander. "Headline” is set in a Chicago newspaper office in the 19505. It looks at the lengths an unscrupulous editor will go to when seeking a front page heading his paper needs to survive. The plays are being presented at the Mill Theatre, Wise Street, at 7.30 p.m. from July 19 to 22.
