Guitar workshop
Local guitar enthusiasts will be able to explore a diversity of styles during a one-day workshop organised by the Workers Educational Association on Saturday, July 29. Three tutors will supervise classes at 59 Gloucester Street, sessions which will cater for all levels from basic technique to specialised playing, tableture and musical notation. The workshop will include tuition in classical, jazz, blues and contemporary styles. A former tutor at the Zurich Guitar Academy, Martin Nutzli, will specialise in Classical and Spanish repertoire. Another tutor, Keith Petch began playing jazz and blues during the 1980 s after an earlier involvement with folk and rock music. The third tutor, Alun Kirwan, has been involved in presenting the guitar in concert, adapting the classical technique to a variety of styles. Enrolments for the workshop should be received by July 26.
