Prints for children
A special evening for children is being organised by the Robert McDougall Art Gallery on the subject of artists’ prints, on Friday, June 30. It is being held in conjunction with a special display of children’s prints from the Muka Studio, Auckland.
Schoolchildren are being invited to visit the gallery and learn about the lithographic printing process. They will be able to purchase small prints by “significant” New Zealand artists for $3O each as a start to their own collections. The Muka Studio was
started in 1983 by Frans Baetens and Magda Van Gils as a lithographic printing workshop. They also have a studio gallery which represents many well-known artists working in print. An exhibition of work by 25 of them is showing at the McDougall from June 9 to July 30.
