Later licence for eatery
The Licensing Control Commission says it accepts there is some demand for late-night dining in Christchurch.
In granting an extension of hours of Tregattis Restaurant the commission, chaired by Judge Gatley, said it was a fact that many theatre and concertgoers would enjoy a meal after a show, especially business people who may have had little time earlier in the evening. There could also be a demand from older'tourists who generally were not catered for by nightclubs. Tregattis applied for an extension of its hours to enable the premises to stay open until 3 a.m. on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
The commission decided not to grant the full extension, but to allow the restaurant to open until 2 a.m. . from Thursday to Saturday.
