Aussies like Gorby
NZPA-Reuter Sydney “Gorbymania” has hit Australia. An opinion poll showed that the Soviet leader, Mikhail Gorbachev, was more popular among Australians than Bob Hawke, their own Prime Minister. The poll in the “Bulle-
tin” weekly magazine found 72 per cent of Australians liked Mr Gorbachev. Mr Hawke was popular with 57 per cent of his people. Just 32 per cent of the 1182 Australians questioned liked the United States President George Bush.
